James Blunt

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

As we say goodbye to 2007 and hello to 2008, we can’t help but think that we are heading back to bedlam. And that makes us think of the great album Back to Bedlam by James Blunt, which, as it all turns out, a listener was thinking about too.

So, by listener request, we’re adding two cuts to end up our year from that very album: You’re Beautiful and Goodbye My Lover. A listener wrote in and asked us specifically for You’re Beautiful…to you, we hope that the love of your life hears this song, and when she does, thinks of you. We here at Radio Free David agree with you that it is very worthy to play for your girl.

And, our holiday season is done, so we’re retiring until next year Gary Hoey. Don’t worry, though…he will be back in our rotation next year!

Thanks for listening to Radio Free David this past year, and thanks for all of your support. We just wanted to let you know that we deeply appreciate your listening to us.

Here’s to an awesome 2008, and here’s to heading back to bedlam!

As always,
Enjoy!

Asia

Monday, December 24th, 2007

Why not step into the way-back machine today and visit with the ghost of music past today? We’re stepping back to the heady time of 1982 when the likes of Asia dominated the radio.

From their debut album, Asia, we’re adding in two more Asia cuts… their smash Only Time Will Tell and the solid Wildest Dreams. After all, even though New Wave was breaking through in 1982, the 70’s sounding Asia was also breaking through, and, well… even today the music is good.

As always,
Enjoy!

It’s winter. The snow is flying, the air is crisp and cold and plenty of folks are getting ready for Christmas… including Radio Free David.

We’ve just dropped in some awesome seasonal music by Gary Hoey (all sourced from his Ho! Ho! Hoey!, Vol. 2 album) which we’ll run throughout this Christmas season. You’ll here great classics (You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch, Deck The Halls, Frosty The Snowman, Greensleeves, I’ll Be Home For Christmas, Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree, and Winter Wonderland) re-interpreted by Gary. And these aren’t your usual renditions, either. They are a perfect fit for Radio Free David!

How did we get our mitts on this? Actually, this entire album is sponsored by CnCWebDesigns.com. Create, renovate and innovate your web presences with CnCWebDesigns! We really thank the good folks there for listening and sending along this album. If you need some web work done… head on over there!

As always,
Enjoy!

Ken Hyland

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

“Indy Rock, Indy Rock, Indy Rock” begins to fill the air as the crowd’s chant rises in volume, pitch and intensity. “Indy Rock, Indy Rock, Indy Rock” increases until soon nothing else can be heard, and the roar blots out all other thought. It is apparent that we need to put on some indy rock…

And who better to fill that need than Ken Hyland? This guy is great! He is a fantastic singer/songwriter, cranking out some wonderful tunes and he’s independent, to boot! Ken started out as a DJ spinning hip hops beats, but before long, he started replacing the sounds with his own and before anyone could say “wow” he was his own full band.

We’re really happy to have Ken in our playlist and rotation, and we’re spinning two of his tunes from his Self Portrait album: his new single Kiss In The Middle and I Miss Your Coffee (because it is a neat tune and we like it!)

So, thanks, Ken, for helping keep the crowd in check and providing us all with your music. And a great big thanks to Notorious Liz for sending Ken our way!

As always,
Enjoy!
