We’re expanding our Marcy Playground offerings for you today!

We’ve dug deeper into their debut album (called, oddly enough, Marcy Playground) which has a couple more tracks for you: Saint Joe On The School Bus and One More Suicide.

Marcy Playground has the wonderful post-grunge alternative-pop (gee…how many words can we throw at that description?) kind of sound that is compelling to us. But in truth, we were looking at the playlist this morning and noting to ourselves that Sex And Candy looked kind of lonely, and we can’t have that now, can we? Looking at it now, it doesn’t seem quite so lonely and that is a good thing indeed.

Oh? Their odd name? Well, OK…here then, to fill your trivia hunger: Marcy Playground came about because John Wozniak attended an experimental elementary school called Marcy Open School. During his time there, he was intimidated (according to an early biography on the band) by his classmates on the playground… and he took this difficult time of his life forward into his music. Hence, Marcy Playground. Ah, now that’s making something of early experiences!

As always,
Enjoy!
