The Brontosaur

Friday, June 27th, 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Another Friday and time for another great release! This week we are featuring not one, but two, tracks from The Brontosaur. yup! From their album (they call it an LP, but when something clocks in with a baker’s dozen tracks, that’s an album to us) The Brontosaurus LP, we’re running Some Of Them Are In Love and Aphid (Wait For The Answer).

No matter what answer you’re waiting for, these guys have it, that’s for sure. With a nice tight and moving sound, The Brontosaur is a good listen and you’ll find yourself stopping whatever you are doing to do so. In fact, they’re playing now as this is being written and, well, let’s just say that completing the thought is hard because the music is way good.

Anyway! We’re pleased to have The Brontosaur in our rotation!

As always,
Enjoy!

Sky Parade

Friday, June 20th, 2008

They’ve done it again. Who? Sky Parade, of course! They’ve just put out an EP, High On Desire, which Notorious Liz made sure to get into our hands… and as soon as we got it we made sure to put the title cut, High On Desire in our playlist just for you. We’ll be giving this tune a ton of spins, since we’re really keen on it.

Sky Parade has this EP available for just $5.99, which we think is an absolute steal for a great EP. These guys are breaking out all over the place and we are more than happy to feature them here on Radio Free David–be sure to check out their other tunes we run as well (Fire In Your Heart, Losing Control, Stolen Hymns, and I Feel Surreal) which are way great.

As always,
Enjoy!

The Dan Sheehan Conspiracy

Monday, June 16th, 2008

Fresh New Music. There is simply nothing like it. And today we’re super delighted to present to you The Dan Sheehan Conspiracy. Dan Sheehan has a new album out, titled simply The Dan Sheehan Conspiracy. Dan plays a ton of the instruments on this album, including the guitars, keyboards and vocals, among others. There are a lot of influences here and you can find echoes of progressive rock, hard rock, ballads and everything in between. We love the way this disc flows and think that Dan has simply outdone himself. Conspiracy? We don’t know about that, but we do know that it is darn good tunes–and that’s what matters the most!

All tolled, we like this album, and are running the cuts The Valley and See Kay.

As always,
Enjoy!

Journey

Monday, June 9th, 2008

Now and then we find new versions of songs in our current playlist. And when we do, we give them a good listen and make a decision. Such is the case today. And, like today, the decisions are easy and if we don’t do it then we would feel bad.

From Journey’s 2006 re-release of Escape we’ve found a couple of nice live recordings… so, we’re replaced our studio versions of Open Arms, Don’t Stop Believin’ and Who’s Crying Now with live ones. And oh, why not… we’ve tossed in Stone In Love, just because we could.

There. We feel better.

As always,
Enjoy!

Voxhaul Broadcast

Friday, June 6th, 2008

Notorious Liz is absolutely on a tear this spring and she’s got yet more awesome music for us! This time it is Voxhaul Broadcast with their new album Rotten Apples (and believe us, this album is no rotten apple! It is really pretty good!). We’ve added in the title cut Rotten Apples and are just delighted to be running it for you!

Describing themselves as having a lot of soul proves to be an apt description. They also describe themselves as having a lot of Motown. We would describe them as having a lot of great tunes as well, because that really describes them nicely. Voxhaul Broadcast really spices up our playlist and represents what we here at Radio Free David are all about!

As always,
Enjoy!

Blue Man Group

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Every now and then we step back, take a look at our playlist, and realize there is someone that we really need to have. Such is the case today when we realized that we were completely missing Blue Man Group. Not any more!

Just for you, dear listeners, we’ve added a couple of cuts from Blue Man Group. From their Complex album, we’ve added The Complex, Above and I Feel Love.

And we feel better now.

As always!
Enjoy!

Letters VS. Numbers

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Good music is good music. Sometimes, however, it is not as easy to describe that good music as it might be. Such is the case of Letters VS. Numbers. Are they rock? Experimental? (They bill themselves as both, and both descriptions fit nicely). Something else? Well, actually, we don’t really care.. what we do care about is the sound, and that… that we like!

We’re running two great cuts from their new album, Soon: Heresy and I’m Not Human. We think both cuts are darn good, a lot of fun, and fit our playlist well… so, in they go for your listening pleasure! Letters VS. Numbers is certainly worth checking out!

Thanks to Notorious Liz for making sure this music found our hot little hands!

As always,
Enjoy!
