The Literary Greats

What a great sound!

The Literary Greats have a way cool album out called Ocean, Meet Valley. It’s full of cool sounds, great hooks and very wonderful music. We’re really happy to be running the lead-off tune That Mountain Yonder from this gem. The sounds on this album would remind you of the 70’s (and with good reason: they use lots of acoustics interspersed among the electrics stuff, with that certain lyrical bent that reminds one of that particular decade), but that is not to say that this is old music. Far, far from it. Instead, their music is much more timeless and you’ll find yourself listening to it many times.

With a band title like “The Literary Greats” you mind wonder if they live up to that name. No worries–they do, and they’re Great.

As always,
Enjoy!

Girls On Film - Mental Image

Fun new music for a Friday!

Girls On Film is upbeat to say the least, and this high energy EP will definitely keep your feet tapping. From start to end, the entire EP is full of life, energy, fun and of course, cool tunes. Billed as “indy-electro”, we would bill them as electrifying. This all female group might, just might, remind you of something out of the 80’s, but their sound is quite timeless and is as home today as it was then. And as it will be tomorrow.

We think Girls On Film brings a nice balance to our playlist. We’re running the cut Metrosexual know that you will dig it.

As always,
Enjoy!

Kiss Mars

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, Kiss Mars is coming your way–right over the internet waves here on Radio Free David, in fact! We’ve dropped in their tune Lost Days from their EP titled the same.

This is a fun release: the tunes are solid and the beat good, and although there are just three tunes on the EP, they are a good listen. If this is the sound of things to come from these guys, the future looks very good indeed.

As always,
Enjoy!
