It’s May, and we’re got another podcast for you. This episode features Shade, a great band from Pittsburgh. For you, just for you, we’ve got an exclusive interview with Brad from Shade, a vinyl track (we converted it to digital for the podcast, just in case you don’t have a record player handy), some of Shade’s early music and some new music… all in all, it is 24 (and a half!) minutes packed full of music and information.

Shade’s music has everything we look for, including a very cool beat, and you’ll want to check out this episode. We’ve made available the m4a file (which has some artwork in it and works great on iPods) as well as the standard mp3 file for you. Or, if you prefer, you can get it through iTunes. However you get it, though, it is well worth the listen.

To celebrate this podcast, we’ve added the tracks Slowfire from their Fedra EP and Forever from their vinyl release into our rotation.

We’re really excited about our latest artist to our playlist: Till Ten Tonight! And they are our feature artist on the Voices podcast.

These guys are out there, making great music for the love of music; their songs, both musically and lyrically really speak from the heart and to the heart: they well represent what Radio Free David is all about. We’re running two of their songs from the new EP Sailing Under: Shinedown and Sometimes Late At Night (which has quickly become one of my favorite songs). And, I was lucky enough to score an interview with all Eric, Steve and Lou from Till Ten Tonight, which you can hear in its entirety on the podcast. Voices is available in the m4a format as well as mp3 format for your listening pleasure.

Till Ten Tonight is an exciting group to watch and they have an album due out this summer. Watch for more of these guys here on Radio Free David!

Lots of changes have been happening here at Radio Free David.

We have switched our blogging software to something a lot more powerful; we up and running and over the next little bit of time will be adjusting the look of the blog to the one that we are all accustomed to.

And, we are proud to introduce our new podcast series: Voices.

Voices will take you behind the scenes with selected artists and bands at Radio Free David. We’ll showcase some of their songs and bring you information that isn’t normally available: that’s right… a scoop! Learn more about the artists, who they are, what their thoughts are and what their music means to them.

Voices Episode 1 introduces you to Paul Michel and Blow Up Hollywood. Both of these stellar artists are two of our favorite artists and are staunch supporters of Radio Free David. We think you’ll find their stories interesting, to say the least. For Paul, we go back to some of his earlier work then bring you right up to his latest release. For Blow Up Hollywood, we explore who they are and why they are making such incredible and poignant music.

For your listening pleasure, Voices is also available in m4a format, which works well on iPods.
